Message	tapped into that circuit for something else? Going to the higher wattage bulbs caused the circuit to overload. Only thing that really makes sense other than some kind of partial short circuit in the wiring (ie., nicked cabling partially coming into contact with ground). The partial short theory would be a really long shot...
